LET’S COOL FURNACES DOWN AT M.E.G.A S.p.AM.E.G.A S.p.A. is a company with three plants in Italy, all producing forged fittings and specific pieces for plant engineering.
Among all these production mills, the one located in Lallio (Bergamo) is involved in the hot pressing of fittings in ferrous and non-ferrous material including elbows and tees. The materials used include carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, ferritic/austenitic stainless steel and nickel, copper, aluminum, molybdenum and titanium alloys weighting up to 20 kg. The production site occupies an area of about 4,000 m3 with its workshop, pressing machines and warehouse.
M.E.G.A S.p.A. uses special furnaces in order to make the steel malleable; these furnaces can reach temperatures above 1,000 ° C. It is due to these high temperature processes that an efficient and reliable system for cooling them is needed.
Thanks to its efficient sales network, DAB managed to offer a product that can fully satisfy the requirements of M.E.G.A S.p.A. In order to reach this puspose, a group of 4 pumps NKPG 40/250 has been installed to cool the furnaces. Moreover, the annexed inverter technology has been provided, making it possible to meet the company’s needs by constantly modulating the cooling system operation and maximizing its efficiency.
